Healing Your Inner Child

Posted by Maria Certo on Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Who is your inner child?

What does he or she require?

Our inner child is the true essence of our soul.

This child is the purity of your existence.

He or she is whole, innocent and love.

The child in you always remains and is carried in your consciousness throughout your life.

You are a child of God.

You came from God's infinite love.

As this child of God, you require Love to be given to you by those whom you are connected with, whether it be your parents, partners, friends or relatives.

In life, sometimes this doesn't happen.

You are abused by those you trust.

The abuse may be mental, verbal, emotional, physical or sexual.

When one suffers this sort of abuse as a child, their soul is stripped away from them and the light that once shined has now been darkened by their abuser.

How do we take care of this abused inner child when we reach adulthood?

There are so many layers to uncover before we are able to heal the child in us.

First, we need to acknowledge that the insecurities that are being felt stem from the light within being attacked.

These attacks of negativity are not who you are.

They were brought to you so you may clearly see your truth.

The truth of your Light and Beauty.

Anytime one feels not worthy of something or someone, it reflects the loss of self through the darkness that was placed on them in their youth.

Harsh mental, emotional and verbal abuse send messages to you that you are not good enough.

You begin to feel that you are not accepted and try to create perfection so you may be recognized.

Physical and sexual abuse create trust issues disconnecting you from your heart.

When you realize that none of this has anything to do with who you truly are, this is the moment when healing starts.

Acknowledging your beauty is a process.

When old tapes begin to play in your head, remember your inner child and the love that is yours to hold and embrace.

Don't ever define yourself by your past pain or abuse.

This is not you!

To heal your inner child, you need to recognize your worth and nurture yourself through love.

Love all of who you are including the good, bad and indifferent parts of your self.

Love Heals through God!
