Identity

Posted by Maria Certo on Sunday, August 22, 2010

Finding our identity is a long and difficult process.

We  struggle with who we are because confusion sets in.

The confusion comes from the world around us.

Throughout life, the messages from our upbringing, society and peers stays in the memory.

These messages are that of ideas, thoughts and feelings of how we should be.

Our family has one set of ideas based on their own needs.

Society tells us that we have to look and act a certian way to fit in with the mainstream.

Our peers want us to be like them so they can remain in their safety zone.

This safety zone creates walls to avoid looking within to make the necessary changes that
are needed to see the truth of who we are.

Being surrounded by this hinders individual growth.

Coming into your own takes perserverence and courage.

One must keep pushing forward with strength as the obstacles continue to topple down upon you.

It is these obstacles that will reveal the truth.

Will they stop you from seeing clearly or will they awaken you to the part of self that has been asleep?

As the feelings of true self enter into the consciousness, clarity shows up.

Doors of opportunity open wide.

As one walks through these doors, your identity solidifies.

Self expression, individuality and orginality now take precedence over society based ideas.

Finding your true self breaks the chains of restrictiveness and allows the liberation of the soul.

The world can now experience all the beauty you have to offer as you stand strong in your truth.

"All is within yourself.  Know your most inward self and look for what corresponds with it in nature.
