Who Are You?

Posted by Maria Certo on Thursday, September 23, 2010

What defines you?

Is it a role as a parent, a career, spiritual beliefs, political views, a social circle or material possessions?

None of these things truly define who one is.

So what is it that gives one their true identity?

It begins with understanding what your soul requires on all levels.

What does your soul require?

Reflect deeply on what you truly need in order to express your soul's desires.

The answer awaits this question once it has been asked.

Everyone we come in contact with throughout life shows us something about ourselves.

It begins as early as 4 or 5 years of age.

Think of yourself at the age of 5 as you began kindergarden.

How were you feeling about having to go to school?

Excited, nervous, confident or anxious?

Why were you feeling these emotions?

What brought you to that place?

Now think of your first boyfriend or girlfriend relationship.

What was going on with you during that time period of adolescence?

Next, think about your first job that you held.

How did you feel about your performance?

Lastly, think about your young to middle adult years.

These are the years where one goes to college, moves away from home, starts a family or career, meets new friends, gets married or divorced.

What did you learn about yourself through all of these experiences from childhood to adulthood?

When you take moments to reflect on these times in life,
you will find a discovery of self!

This discovery is an ongoing journey of the soul.

Through this discovery truths will be revealed on who you really are.

What drives you to do certain things?

Where does it come from?

It comes from the soul yearning to experience all the parts of Itself to become whole!

Your soul speaks loudly!

When a baby is born, they are whole.

Through life's ups and downs one becomes fragmented into many pieces.

With each life experience, the wholeness of self begins to take form.

One emerges into all that they are.

A knowing takes place inside.

This is the wisdom of self.

It is this wisdom that gives strength to the choices that are made through each moment you are alive.

All through life, God holds you tight as you find your way through every challenge, doubt, pain
and confusion.

Take value in your choices and decisions as you find your soul's purpose.

Serenity and Joy will follow.

At the end of each day, ask yourself, who am I?

You will be guided to the answer!
